Position: Development Director
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:00 -5:30; Fri 8:00-Noon
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with three
to five years’ fundraising experience
- Experience with major gift fundraising
and/or capital campaigns preferred
- Demonstrated ability to structure and
implement fundraising programs
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office,
Excel and experience with fundraising software
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and
written communication skills; extensive external contact
- Ability to interact with staff, board
and contributors
- Grant writing experience

reliable transportation – some travel within our service area (31 counties).

Acceptance
of philosophy of food banking
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, maintain and
enhance annual fundraising programs to include public and private contributions
and corporate, individual, foundation and church-based gifts.
- Strong emphasis on generating major gifts,
planned giving, new prospects and
expanding fundraising efforts to untapped sources throughout the Food Bank's
service area as well as maximizing existing programs
- Cultivate relationships with donors
- Coordinate with the president & CEO
about the annual campaign among board members and the board’s involvement in fundraising
- Supervise the activities of the donor
relations manager including timely and accurate gift acknowledgement
- Maintain and manage the donor database,
with support from the donor relations manager, and generate reports and updates
as appropriate - full knowledge of the
fundraising software is required (Results Plus training available)
- Work with the VP, communications &
development on the timing and donor level for direct mail campaigns
- Oversee the annual holiday card and
cookie letter program
- Work with the finance director to
collect pledge payments
- Take primary responsibility for the
collection of data for the annual report and other fundraising materials
- Conduct tours and make presentations to
community groups as appropriate
- Maintain positive interaction with
other Food Bank staff

Position: Transportation Coordinator
Hours: Mon-Thurs: 7:00
a.m.-4:30 p.m., Fri 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
- A
minimum of two years of college and/or three to five years transportation and
logistics experience; must be familiar with transportation management systems

Working knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and
experience with the transportation function in a warehouse setting including
DOT/Safety regulations and compliance record keeping
- Computer
skills and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records
- Must
be able to drive a bob truck, operate a fork lift and pallet jacks; commercial driver’s
license preferred
- Ability to
communicate clearly and solve problems

to work well with donors, vendors, agency representatives and Food Bank staff
- Acceptance

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all traffic functions relating to freight movement into and
out of the Food Bank warehouses, maintaining prescribed service levels, and
keeping costs at a minimum while ensuring efficient resource utilization and
achievement of service goals
- Assure compliance with all government regulations by developing
appropriate transportation policies and programs designed to provide the
organization with the required levels of transportation services which meet
cost and service objectives, along with Food Bank and agency needs.
- Coordinate with warehouse operations the dispatching of drivers for
customer pickups and agency deliveries as required.
- Determine the most economical traffic
patterns
- Manage maintenance of the fleet to ensure that vehicles are clean and operating
properly.
- Maintain timely inspections and licensing of all vehicles
- Arrange for carrier services by securing appropriate bids, prepare and
file claims for damages, lost shipments, and overcharges.
- Evaluate carrier performance and recommend
any appropriate changes in mode and/or carrier.
- Work with management to
develop policies and procedures for sourcing, rate negotiation and the purchase
of transportation, the Food Bank truck fleet, freight bill auditing and
overcharge claims and optimum traffic routes
- Analyze transportation costs,
equipment availability and service levels, making recommendations and
instituting corrective action

agency representatives, Food Bank management and

Position: Truck
Driver
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mon – Thurs, 8:00 a.m. -- Noon Friday
Responsibilities:
-
Drive vehicles with capacities of no more than
seventeen tons in order to transport products to and from specified
destinations
-
Load and unload deliveries and shipments
-
Inspect and verify the contents of inventory
loads against shipping papers
-
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and
equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to
ensure that vehicles are in proper working order
-
Report any mechanical problems encountered with
vehicles
- Report delays, accidents or other traffic and
transportation situations to supervisor using mobile telephones
-
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records
of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations
-
Accurately pull order for pickup and delivery
- Provide assistance as needed to maintain orderly
and clean work area in compliance with Mid-South Food Bank safety and
sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets the Feeding
America and Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting
in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance of the outside perimeters
- Maintain working relationships that ensure the
success of Mid-South Food Bank programs.
This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with
donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; commercial
drivers license (CDL)

Good verbal and written communication skills
-
Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of
good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible
records and current files

Ability to read maps, and follow written and
verbal geographic directions
-
Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or
powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus
-
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
-
Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food
Handling Course
- Ability to work well with donors, volunteers,
agencies, senior aides and other Food Bank staff
- Acceptance of philosophy of food banking
