Position: Truck
Driver
Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mon – Thurs
Responsibilities:
-
Drive vehicles with capacities of no more than
seventeen tons in order to transport products to and from specified
destinations
-
Load and unload deliveries and shipments
-
Inspect and verify the contents of inventory
loads against shipping papers
-
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and
equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to
ensure that vehicles are in proper working order
-
Report any mechanical problems encountered with
vehicles
- Report delays, accidents or other traffic and
transportation situations to supervisor using mobile telephones
-
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records
of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations
-
Accurately pull order for pickup and delivery
- Provide assistance as needed to maintain orderly
and clean work area in compliance with Mid-South Food Bank safety and
sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets the Feeding
America and Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting
in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance of the outside perimeters
- Maintain working relationships that ensure the
success of Mid-South Food Bank programs.
This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with
donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; commercial
drivers license (CDL)
-
Good verbal and written communication skills
-
Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of
good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible
records and current files
-
Ability to read maps, and follow written and
verbal geographic directions
-
Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or
powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus
-
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
-
Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food
Handling Course
- Ability to work well with donors, volunteers,
agencies, senior aides and other Food Bank staff
- Acceptance of philosophy of food banking
Reports to: Senior Manager, Warehouse Operations

Position: Warehouse Worker
Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or
powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus
- Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of
good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible
records and current files

Prior warehouse, production, food service
experience preferred
-
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food
Handling Course
- Ability to work well with donor, volunteers,
agency representatives, volunteers, senior aides and other Food Bank staff

Acceptance of philosophy of food banking
Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect and properly weigh and/or count
all incoming products
- Accurately pull orders for pickup and delivery
- Load delivery orders and unload shipments as
needed
- Maintain orderly and clean work area in
compliance with Food Bank safety and sanitation policies; ensure that the
warehouse facility meets Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines
by assisting in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance of the outside
perimeters

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; one year of
custodial experience

Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of good record keeping procedures and
the ability to maintain accurate and legible records
- Ability to work with pesticides; handle and
safely dispose of hazardous materials
-
Ability to operate a manual or
powered pallet jack; forklift proficiency and certification a plus
-
Knowledge of maintaining, cleaning and
preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals
according to state and federal regulations;
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food
Handling Course

Ability to work well with donor, volunteers,
agency representatives, volunteers, senior aides and other Food Bank staff
-
Acceptance of philosophy of food banking
Responsibilities:
-
Ensure offices and board room are cleaned
-
Ensure that the warehouse facility meets Memphis
and Shelby County Health Department and Feeding America guidelines through daily
cleaning in the warehouse, offices, bathrooms and break room and maintenance of
the outside perimeters
-
Respond to service requests including the set
up and take down of furniture and equipment
- Handle special projects as necessary including waxing
floors, shampooing carpets, etc.
- Maintain the exterior of the building including cutting
grass and shrubs, removal of trash, etc.
- Remove trash in accordance with established
procedures
-
Help to maintain a pest-free environment by
checking and replacing pest control devices, checking and properly positioning
rodent traps, maintaining accurate pest control logs.
-
Clean and disinfect restrooms and other common
areas.
- Maintain working relationships that ensure the
success of Food Bank programs. This
includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors,
volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff
-
Other duties as assigned
