Fast Hunger Facts for the Mid-South area
- 20% of the Mid-South population has experienced food insecurity or hunger in the last 12 months
- That's more than 396,000 people
- Of that 20%, 31% have incomes above the level that qualifies for food stamps. They make too much money for food stamps, but still struggle to feed themselves or their families.
- One in four children in the Mid-South struggle with hunger. This can cause severe development problems.
